在YAHOO新加坡上看到Yahoo unit inks pact to acquire Taiwan internet firm WRETCH   Thursday December 14, 12:03 PM Yahoo's wholly-owned subsidiary Yahoo!Kimo has said it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire WRETCH, a Taiwanese social media content provider of weblosg and online photo album services. Upon completion, the acquisition will combine Yahoo!Kimo's global network of resources with WRETCH's local multi-media content to deliver a superior social media experience to Taiwan consumers, it said in a statement. Subject to satisfaction of closing conditions, the parties expect to complete the acquisition process during the first quarter of 2007, said Yahoo!Kimo. WRETCH's brand name and services will remain unchanged. The two companies intend to improve the online photo album and blog services for the 6.5 million users who currently visit WRETCH every month. "Yahoo!Kimo has always been open to exploring more ways to cooperate with industry leaders and our counterparts. As more and more users use blogs, photo albums, and media files, user-generated content has become the hottest trend on the Web today," said Rose Tsou, managing director of Yahoo!Kimo.
